Ivy’s Study has been thoughtfully created around two distinct spaces, each with its own atmosphere and purpose. Whether you’re joining us to listen, learn and connect with others, or looking for somewhere quieter to read, reflect and explore your interests, there is a room designed for you.

The Hearth is our welcoming gathering space created for talks, workshops, events, demonstrations and shared experiences.
The Study offers something a little quieter, an intimate space for reading, research, reflection, conversation and independent study.

Together, they reflect what Ivy’s Study is all about: creating space for curiosity, connection and continued learning. The Study is where we explore. The Hearth is where we share.

The Hearth is the heart of Ivy’s Study, a warm, flexible gathering space created for bringing people together to share knowledge, ideas, creativity and experience.

Designed with talks, workshops and community at its centre, The Hearth can be arranged to suit a variety of events. From seated talks and guest speakers to practical workshops, discussion circles, demonstrations, seasonal gatherings and intimate group events, the room can adapt to the needs of both host and audience.

A dedicated host area provides an inviting focal point for speakers, teachers and facilitators, while the wider room can be configured with seating, tables or more open floor space depending on the event. With its rich greens, vintage-inspired furnishings and warm, welcoming atmosphere, we want The Hearth to feel less like a conventional venue and more like somewhere people genuinely want to gather.

Alongside Ivy’s Study's own programme of events, The Hearth is available to hire by independent hosts, teachers, practitioners, community groups and creatives looking for an interesting and characterful space in which to bring their own ideas to life.

The Study

Read • Reflect • Discover

The Study is the quieter side of Ivy’s Study an intimate, thoughtfully created room for reading, research, reflection, conversation and independent learning.

Inspired by the atmosphere of an old study or private reading room, the space has been designed to encourage you to slow down, settle in and give your attention to whatever has brought you there. Whether that's a book you've been meaning to read, research you're working through, journalling, writing, studying or simply having the space to explore an idea without the distractions of everyday life.

The Study can be enjoyed individually or by a small number of people, making it particularly suited to private study sessions, small study groups, mentoring, one-to-one sessions and thoughtful conversations.

It is also a space for people who simply need somewhere to think. You don't need to be studying formally or working towards a qualification. Curiosity is enough.

Alongside private study, the room can be hired by tutors, mentors, writers, researchers and suitable independent practitioners looking for a smaller and more personal setting.
