Gathered Thoughts
Big questions. Open minds. Thoughtful conversations.
Some of the most interesting conversations begin with a simple question. Gathered Thoughts is our regular gathering of curious minds, bringing people together in the cosy surroundings of Ivy’s Study to explore ideas, share perspectives and enjoy meaningful conversation.
Inspired by the tradition of philosophical salons and informal discussion circles, these gatherings offer an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life and explore some of the questions that make us human.
From philosophy and psychology to spirituality, folklore, belief, morality and the mysteries of everyday existence, each gathering introduces a different thought-provoking question for us to explore together.
These are not lectures or formal debates. They're relaxed, welcoming conversations where everyone has something valuable to contribute, whether through knowledge, lived experience, curiosity or simply a different way of looking at the world.
You don't need any qualifications, previous knowledge or particular beliefs to join us. You're equally welcome to share your thoughts, ask questions or simply listen.
We encourage open minds, thoughtful discussion and respectful disagreement. Our aim isn't to convince one another or arrive at a single correct answer, but to discover what we might learn when we take the time to consider another perspective.
What to Expect
Hosted by Kerri-Ann Betty, MA, Gathered Thoughts takes place in The Hearth, our intimate gathering space at Ivy's Study.
Each session begins with a gentle introduction to the evening's question, followed by an open, facilitated conversation where participants are encouraged to explore ideas together.
Refreshments are included, and attendance is kept to a small group to maintain a comfortable, friendly atmosphere.
A small admission charge helps us cover the cost of providing the space and refreshments, allowing us to keep these gatherings accessible to our community.
Come alone, bring a friend, share a thought or simply enjoy listening. There's a place for everyone with a curious mind.
Because the most interesting conversations don't always end with an answer.
Come with your thoughts. Leave with a few more.
